Scheduling, Scheduling Changes, Weather Delays, Holidays

How often do I need my lawn serviced?

We offer service year round as Houston yards tend to grow all year long.  During the growing season, April 1 - October 31, we encourage weekly service.  During the fall and winter months as the grass grows slower and goes dormant, your yard still needs servicing.  During these services we will mow, edge, clean up the leaves and debris and blow your property clean which will help keep your lawn healthy until the next growing season.  We service twice in November, once each in December and January and twice each in February and March.

What day of the week will my service be performed on and will it always stay the same?
After your initial service, we will assign you a regular service day based on your property location that will stay the same.  However, we reserve the right to change your service day to keep our crews running efficiently.  As a courtesy to you, we will contact you in advance if your service day changes.

What happens if its rains or if my service was missed or falls on a holiday?

Our service schedule is Monday-Saturday.  We pride ourselves on providing timely and reliable service.  In the event of rain, your schedule will moved back the amount of rainy and wet days.   However, there are other unforeseen circumstances which could delay your service such as holidays, customer back log or equipment failure.  If this happens, we will be out as soon as we can to make up the service.

Lawn and Landscaping Maintenance Suggestions

How often should I water my lawn and landscaping?   Due to Houston's heat during the summer months, lawns and landscaping should be watered two to three times a week for a depth of 1 - 1 1/2".  This usually translates to 15 - 20 minutes per zone if you have a sprinkler system.  Watering frequency should be reduced to once a week during the fall and winter months.  Obviously, during periods of drought or excessive rain, watering schedules should be adjusted accordingly.  Lawns and landscaping should be watered in the early morning so excess water can burn off as the sun rises.  If you water too late in the morning or in the afternoon, water will evaporate before it can reach the roots.

How often should I fertilize my lawn?   This is one of the most important ways to protect and maintain your yard.  Lawns should be fertilized once in the early spring when the grass is greening up and beginning to grow, twice in the summer months to maintain the health of the lawns through stress and heat, and lastly in the fall to encourage good root development over the winter months and to kill weeds before next season.  We can tailor fit a fertilizer program that's right for you.  Ask us for a quote.

How often should I trim my landscaping?   Hedges, shrubs and trees need to be trimmed on a regular or seasonal basis depending on the plant variety.  Trimming promotes new growth and blooms, aesthetic appeal, and removal of diseased or damaged material.  Please ask us for a quote on a customized maintenance package for your yard.

What if you damage something on our property?   At Canopy, we treat your property as if it were our own.  In the unlikely event we damage something on your property, we will fix or replace the item.  Please contact us within 48-hours with your issue.

This is a list of items that we are not responsible for but are not limited to only the following: Incorrectly installed sprinkler heads, unprotected sprinkler system piping, lose garden hoses, pool fences, "chicken" wire along fence lines and landscape lighting/wiring. Additionally, if we are required to move objects to service your lawn, such as trampolines, basketball goals, playhouses, lawn furniture, etc, we will not be responsible for damage caused by moving the object.  Also, we are not responsible any type of window breakage while providing maintenance on your property, from rocks, objects left in the yard, flying debris, etc. Lastly, we would suggest fence lines, tree trunks, and play ground equipment foundations are protected from weed eater lines.

Pets, Pools, Locked Gates

How do you handle pets, pools, and locked gates?   We love pets too and take every precaution as not to let your pets out of the backyard.  However, we cannot guarantee that your pets will not escape while we are working.  Therefore, we will not take responsiblity for your pets.  Please make sure your pets are contained on the day of service.

We realize that the pool is the focal point of most backyards, and we take extreme care while working around your's.  We will make every attempt not to leave debris in your pool after your service.  However, with Houston being so windy, we cannot guarantee that your pool will be 100% free of debris.

Please leave your backyard gate unlocked on your day of service.  If you have a combination lock, please contact us with the code.
